Brent Jacobs has been Executive Director of C&W’s GLSP for more than 30 years and is cofounder of BIOCOM, where he co-chairs the facilities committee. Mr. Jacobs is also co-founder of Big Bear Bio, a consulting firm that links North American biotechnology companies with Asian Capital. He has brokered more than 10 million sq. ft. of laboratory space, including more than 1.5 million sq. ft. of leasing and acquisition for Idec Pharmaceuticals and Biogen Idec.

Clients represented include: Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Althea Technologies, Avanir, Cibus, Covax, Conforma, CombiChem, SGX, Idun, Takeda, Tanabe, Ligand, Eli Lilly, Gen-Probe, Hybritech, Genta, Gensia, Kirin Life Sciences, Quidel, CovX Pharmaceuticals and Genzyme.

Mr. Jacobs has also represented the following academic and research institutions: UCSD, UCLA, UCSB, Sanford-Burnham, Salk, Scripps, John Wayne Cancer Institute, La Jolla Institute of Molecular Medicine, Torrey Pines Institute, La Jolla Institute of Allergy and Immunology, L.G. Biomedical and the Venter Institute.

He is regularly a bio-industry speaker and SIOR on biotechnology facilities. Mr. Jacobs is on the Executive Board of Directors of the Sanford-Burnham Institute, one of the nation’s top biomedical research institutes, and he recently chaired the Oversight Committee for the Sanford-Burnham Institute’s 175,000 sq. ft. laboratory facility in Orlando, Florida. He is a board member of the American Technion Society and a past Trustee of the Ruben H. Fleet Science Center and The La Jolla Institute for Molecular Medicine. He chairs CONNECT’s Entrepreneur Hall of Fame and is Chairman of the San Diego Innovation Center.


Greg Bisconti

With more than 15 years experience in commercial real estate, Greg Bisconti combines a strong background in tenant and landlord representation with extensive capital markets and investment sales experience. Most of his 5 million sq. ft. and $1 billion in transactions were completed as a tenant representative. Before becoming a commercial broker, he underwrote more than $1 billion worth of property during 18 months as a financial analyst.

Mr. Bisconti’s past assignments include a 150,000+ sq. ft. sublease disposition assignment for Biogen Idec, a 110,000 sq. ft. lab/office consolidation for LabCorp, a 45,000 sq. ft. headquarters relocation for Covx Pharmaceuticals, a lease termination for Chugai Pharma (Roche), a 34,000 sq. ft. lease disposition of one of San Diego’s few validated cGMP facilities, a 285,000 sq. ft. campus construction/relocation for CNET (San Francisco), a 171,000 sq. ft. industrial lease for Storage USA, and a 50,000 sq. ft. headquarters relocation for Securant Technologies (sold in 2001). In addition to these tenant relocations, he was a leasing agent for 345 California Street, a 590,000 sq. ft. San Francisco trophy building, as well as a member of the disposition team for a $32 million office site on behalf of Wells Fargo (later sold to Hines for a 600,000 sq. ft. speculative office complex.)

He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Real Estate and Urban Land Use from California State University, Sacramento. He is a member of BIOCOM, BIOCOM Facilities Committee, CONNECT, and BOMA.

Ted Jacobs specializes in life sciences tenant representation transactions ranging from startups to Big Pharma. Ted has represented companies with the range of uses from cGMP, CLIA, biology, chemistry, etc. He has years of exposure to the life sciences industry as one of the partners on the C&W Global Life Sciences Group which is the first life sciences team in the country to specialize exclusively in life sciences real estate representation. In Ted’s first year of brokerage he was named rookie of the year. Ted is a licensed Real Estate Broker, a member of CONNECT, the BIOCOM Facilities Committee, and is on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Entrepreneurs Exchange (SDEE). Ted earned a degree in Entrepreneurship from the Kelley School of Business and in Management from the School of SPEA at Indiana University.

Alex Tsurdinis brings more than 7 years of marketing and administrative support experience to C&W GLSP’s client service and overall process management. Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, she worked as Client Services Director/ Marketing Specialist at Location Matters, a boutique retail commercial brokerage firm specializing in restaurants.

Ms. Tsurdinis graduated from James Madison University with a degree in Writing, Rhetoric, and Technical Communication.
